Now first off let me say that when i do someting...i do it all the way, i bought this bike in June of '06 with it i got the stage 1, bags, wind shield, warranty, pipes etc. Since I have added tons of stuff to it, everything looks great on this bike (even the luggage rack) Its a gorgeous bike, its also relatively rare, you go to a rally you dont see to many Springer Classics, I wonder why?
This Bike handles great, I came from a Sportster so I was kind of leary about getting such a big bike. It took me about 800 miles to really get a feel for it, the cornering speeds, lean etc. The suspension is surprisingly good. The softail suspension in the back is adequate over bumps & pot holes (but kind of rough for the passenger.) The Springer suspension in the front is also very adequate though kind of tight when the bike is new. It took a few hundrerd miles for it to loosen up a bit. The stock seat is fine, ive ridden over 400 miles in a sitting a few times with no adverse reaction. The bike corners really well, though the floorboards tend to drag on tight corners. The Engine has plenty of power & with the Stage 1 and pipes, it sounds and responds great, the pipes arent to loud, but they are deep and throaty so you know Im coming. The stock passenger seat is pretty rough, My fiance equates it to riding on a brick, but the $150 touring saddle makes a huge difference & matches the styling of the bike. The headlamp was pretty inadequate & it bounces like crazy. its rubber mounted, but kind of annoying for people you are following, i added the Passing lamps, and it made a huge difference ( and they look great too). Over all this is a FANTASTIC bike, I have about 6K on it now and I have accessorized the heck out of it. I know have Passing lamps, backrest, touring passenger seat, windshield bag, The Nostalgic footboard, shift legvers & foot brake, luggage rack, & more. it always gets looks wheter you are parked or moving, and is a great conversation starter because it is based on the 1948 FL, some people think its an old bike. Its fun & easy to ride. Take it for a spin, Im sure you'll enjoy it as much as I do.
