i had a 89 model ( australian ) it was different to this .. in aust this was the 1988 model .. ive owned many & ridden many dual purpose bikes & this was the best , i had the restrictor removed from the carbie which gave it more get up n go . i used to sit on 160 kmhr / 100 mphr on dirt roads doubling , fully loaded .. my previous 2 bikes 1986 honda xl 600 rmg & 1984 yamaha xt 600 tenere in the same situation would maybe pull 135 kmhr / 80 mphr ..
Pro: good looks , good power , plenty of room to move , 29 lt tank - 7 lt res . ( res got me home many times when i was miles from home ) good off road ground clearance , tough ( i tried to kill it & failed )..
Contra: seat hight daunting for those under 6 feet , bike felt different with full tank / empty tank .
